The Reversal - From Plan to Purpose | Sermon Audio
On April 13, 2025, Pastor Jon Delger preached a Palm Sunday message from John 12:12–19 as part of the sermon series The Reversal. In this sermon, he challenged the congregation to see beyond the festive and familiar elements of Palm Sunday and instead recognize the deep spiritual truths embedded in the story. As the crowd welcomed Jesus with palm branches and cries of "Hosanna," they misunderstood the nature of their biggest problem—believing it was political oppression by Rome rather than their own sin. Pastor Jon emphasized that how we define our biggest problem shapes our entire lives. While the people expected a revolutionary king, Jesus entered humbly on a donkey, revealing that He came not to meet political expectations but to offer salvation from sin. Ultimately, the gospel offers not the hero we want, but the Savior we desperately need.
